they are not very detailed coz you guys should have alr studied you notes and should have alr researched and revised them....i hope..:)
CAMPCRAFT

I am amazed that only 6 submitted their reflections.

Anyway,don't bother sending in your reflections.
I completed the article only.
I tell you,I almost went berserk doing it.
Never mind.If I go crazy,you people pay for my bills.

Excitement could be felt in the air. It was our first time going to the K-9 Dog Unit. Dressed in our full uniform, we set out for the K-9 Dog Unit. Whispers could be heard. We cheered our way there.

We waited in anticipation. We then set off to a room where we were given a briefing. We watched a video too. The video showed everything that we might be seeing. From the video, we could also see that the trainers shared strong bonds with their dogs. Some even kept their dogs as pets after their dogs retired.

Our squadmates who were Malays had mixed feelings about this trip for they were forbidden to touch dogs due to their religion. But upon reaching there, everything proved them wrong. Dogs did not run around like we had expected but we see none till we went on our tour.

We were shown around. We learnt about different dogs. Everyone was excited about the tour but probably a little upset for there was no “live” performance. But we understood the reason later on.

We were then brought to the area where they groom the dogs. Well, even working dogs needed to be groomed at times. We were allowed to touch their fur. There was a dog that was so hyper that it cannot sit still. It was jumping about. The Officer-In-Charge joked that the dog was excited to see us. Though jumping about, some still managed to pet it.

Surprisingly, dogs that we pet were huge dogs. They are the guard dogs. Though huge, but they were very obedient and listened to their trainers. While we pet it, it just sat there for us to pet. It did not kick up a fuss. We were amazed at their obedience. The same goes for the hyper dog. It also listened to its trainer. But it was not as stable as the other two dogs.

We were brought to a mini carpark. From far, you may think it was a normal carpark. But think again, you are wrong. It was a carpark where they stored cars that people used to bring drugs and illegal immigrants into Singapore. We were all definitely surprised at how they even managed to come up with ways to hide those illegal immigrants and bring them into Singapore.

Still, they were discovered by our Singapore Police Force. We also learnt that those illegal immigrants paid a few hundred Singapore Dollars just to be smuggled into Singapore. They were hidden in a hole underneath seats. They breathed through a pipe where it leads to the exhaust pipe. They are directly killing themselves as what they are breathing is carbon monoxide. It was like they paid someone to get their own selves killed.

It was indeed an enriching experience. We were much satisfied to be able to be part of the crowd who get to go to the K-9 Dog Unit. We learnt a lot of things in this whole trip. It was absolute enjoyment! We would also like to visit there again though it is much possible and it is a rare chance to be able to visit there as only authorized personnel are able to enter there.

Lastly, we would like to thank Madam Lim for treating us to drinks and also helping us to take photos. If Singapore Police Force keeps up being this great, Singapore would be crime-free soon. That would be great! Good job to the dogs too!
